Jane Lynch has been one of our favorite actresses for a long time. We have often lamented, since her hilarious turns in Christopher Guest's Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, that she never gets enough credit for her comic genius.
A few years back her brilliant performance in The 40 Year Old Virgin brought Jane to a bigger audience. But this TV season, she finally got her due as the star of Fox's break out hit Glee. Jane is now officially a super star.
Her Glee character, Sue Sylvester, says the thing us we all would like to say but wouldn't dare. Of course she has a much sharper tongue and a more twisted command of the English language than we could ever dream of achieving.
We were thrilled to have the chance to interview Jane on Monday night for the Archive of American Television. And so we had to ask her what TV actors she admired when she was growing up. Her answer did not surprise us, since we place her on the list of best comic actresses, right along with her heroes.
