SunChips – Compostable Bags Still Cause Noise Pollution

We’re always amazed by things that take over the pop culture consciousness. Take for example, the latest food related controversy. No, not the egg recall. We’re talking about the contentious SunChips bag issue.

Frito Lay, the makers of the healthy snack food, tried to do good by designing compostable packing for their product. What they didn’t bargain for was the fact that their nibblers are sensitive to a bag that has a louder crunch than their goodies. With a Today Show test decibel level of 95 (one point higher than the subway train which they also clocked), many noshers are embarrassed to reach for a second (or third or fourth) round of SunChips in public.

So, if SunChip racket makes you angry. You’re not alone. In fact, you can add your voice to the over 36,000 people already submerged in the raging debate by joining the Facebook group SORRY BUT I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THIS SUN CHIPS BAG.
