The writers and actors on
Community are our pop culture heroes. Each week we tune in to see what references they will make from popular TV shows and movies and which themes they will explore. If we drank alcohol, we'd make it a drinking game. And this week we'd be hammered because the theme is one of our favorites—animated holiday specials.
Tonight
Community
is paying homage to
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
and the other Rankin and Bass animagic specials of the '60s in the episode called "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas." It seems the pop culture king wakes up inside a stop-motion world and all of the cast become misfit toys. Britta-bot, Baller-annie, Teddie Pierce, Troy Soldier and Topless Baby Shirley all pitch in to help Abed rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
In one of the two behind the scenes clips made available by NBC, Alison Brie (Annie) asks Danny Pudi (Abed), "Do you think it's the weirdest for you because you look the most like an animated character in real life? So it's just going to be like looking in a mirror for you when you watch the animation?" See how Danny responds and watch the rest of Alison and Danny's set visit for this special episode.
Don't miss this classic episode tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. Central.
