Betty White on Being Remembered

Well, it’s finally here – the long anticipated appearance of Betty White as host on Saturday Night Live. Her recent resurgence in the last year was kicked off by her hysterical turn in Sandra Bullock’s rom-com  The Proposal. Then her Super Bowl Snickers commercial drove the point home – Betty White is still funny.

So it wasn’t a huge surprise that new fans would come forward and old ones would reemerge. But no one expected the ground swell of support for a Facebook page called Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!. When the group landed more followers than the official SNL page, it seemed like the writing was on the wall.

Betty will appear live from New York, this Saturday night. And, despite the fact that she’s admitted that she’s nervous, we’re confidant that her hours of live TV experience, her 50 year career, and her inherent comic genius will see her safe, sound, and satisfyingly funny through the ballyhooed event.

The dust won’t have a long time to settle before we see White again on the June 14 premiere of her new TV Land sitcom, Hot in Cleveland. We’ve seen a clip, and Betty will not disappoint.

So with her long list of credits like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Password, and The Golden Girls, coupled with her new accomplishments, how would Betty like to be remembered? Watch the following clip that we edited from her interview with the Archive of American Television and see.
