Just when you thought there was a reality competition show for every occupation (singers, fashion designers, chefs, hairstylists, interior designers, construction workers, to name a few) Logo has created The Arrangement. The series pits ten floral designers against each other. And one of the competitors is from beautiful downtown Burbank.
Tenley Young, a UCLA graduate, hit hard times last year and moved back in with her folks after losing her job. Shortly afterwards she learned of The Arrangement and auditioned.
Now she is one of ten florists fighting for the top prize of $25,000 in competitions like creating floral hats to match a Nick Verreos dress and decorating a display mannequin with living materials (think Tournament of Roses Parade).
The producers of RuPaul's Drag Race have created the eight-episode show with head judge Eric Buterbaugh, floral designer to the stars. His client list—which includes Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Drew Barrymore, and Halle Berry—reads like a a guest list to an A-List red carpet event.
Also on the judging panel is screenwriter Gigi Levangie Grazer who penned the Julia Roberts' movie Stepmom and the Debra Messing series The Starter Wife. A third guest judge will rotate out each week including notables like Nancy O'Dell, RuPaul, and Nick Verreos.
We'll will keep a close watch on Tenley and update you on her progress. The rocker chick, with the faux-hawk and the tats is pretty confidant she'll go far. In her bio video on the Logo website she says, "I'm going to win this show, because I am a little more cutting edge than the other designers."
She continued, "I was a little terrified at first but now that I've been in it, it's been a blast. It's been outrageous, but pretty amazing."
Watch The Arrangement premiering October 4 on Logo, Monday nights at 11:00 PM/10:00 PM Central.
