HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: TV Reads

Looking for that special gift for your favorite pop culture fan this holiday? Well if they are anything like us, when they are not watching TV, they like to read about it. So here are our picks for the best TV-related books for the small screen lover on your list.

Portia de Rossi bears her soul in Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain. Among other things, she talks about her battle with weight and rebounding back from a low of a 300-calorie-a-day diet.

There have been several Mad Men themed books published, but this paperback is one of our favorites. Mad Men: The Illustrated World by Dyna Moe is complete with a Joan paper doll, the recipe for the perfect old-fashioned and instructions for achieving a Betty Draper bouffant.

The Kardashian girls (Kim, Kourtney and Khloe) teamed up for this sister memoir, Kardashian Konfidential, about their childhoods, beauty secrets and parental guidance. It's chock full of the young girls' diary entries, valentines, photos and more.

That Girl's Marlo Thomas shares the stories of being raised by a famous comedian, Danny Thomas, in Growing Up Laughing: My Story and the Story of Funny. She reminisces about memories like rushing home to see dad and his friends Bob Hope, Sid Caesar and George Burns hanging in the living room. She also interviews fellow comedy all-stars like Tina Fey, Alan Alda, Chris Rock and Ben Stiller.

Husband and wife Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin have been doing the signing circuit together after both releasing a book in October. Harry's memoir, Full Frontal Nudity: The Making of an Accidental Actor, focuses on his life as a kid and young adult leading up to his acting career. Lisa has written Starlit, a work of fiction which tells the tale of three struggling Hollywood actresses.

In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks... and Other Complaints from an Angry Middle-Aged White Guy, funny man Adam Carolla gives his insights on the state of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the fall of the public restroom and Sunday football games with Jimmy Kimmel.

We thought we'd slip this one in even though Babs' appearance on Oprah has been her only recent small screen sighting. In My Passion for Design, Barbra Streisand gives a room by room guided tour of the Malibu home she built and designed from the foundation up. The tour includes peeks at her furniture and art collections, her lush gardens and the antique shopping mall she has created in her basement.
