Each week we take a look around our pop culture world and try to find one moment that stood out as the most inspiring. It might be a celebrity who is doing charitable things, a TV shows that inspires us to be better or a philosophy that we should all strive to live by. Here is this week's most inspiring pop culture moment.

Sara Rue isn’t just a season TV actress, she’s quite the philanthropist, too. Besides her penchant for playing poker for charity, she has had long standing connections with Project Angel Food, The Point Foundation, CAST and The Lily Claire Foundation.

But in a recent exclusive interview, she admitted that at this time of year she can’t help but focus her attention of man’s fine, furry friends. As Sara noted, “The holiday season is a great time to give freely and animal causes are always close to my heart. This is a really good time to remember the animals in our lives.”

The Malibu Country star admitted that lots of pets have a hard time in the winter. Sara acknowledged, “A lot of people tend to leave their dogs out in the cold and I always try to remind people that they can’t be out there and to bring them inside. If you can make a donation to your  local ASPCA or humane society it’s always a good thing to do.”

And Sara has even managed to find a way to benefit animals when handing out her holiday gifts. She explained, “For Christmas presents I try to give people who I think will enjoy it an adopt an animal.  You go to World Wildlife Fund and you can adopt a tiger or you can adopt a wolf or you can adopt a polar bear.”

A portion of the proceeds goes toward protecting that particular endangered animal. As for the human, Sara said, “They get a little pamphlet and they can see their animal and sometimes, depending on what you give they get a little stuffed animal to represent who they’ve adopted.”

Everyone’s happy, as Sara acknowledged, “It’s a great gift and it doesn’t require you to go out shopping. You can do it over the computer.  Everyone that I give this gift to always loves it. They are always so appreciative and they feel like they’ve done something good without making an effort. And I feel like my money’s well spent as opposed to buying crappy candles. I’ve done something good and I recommend that gift highly for the holiday season.”

To find out more about the unique holiday gift visit the WWF website. And watch Sara Rue on Malibu Country every Friday night at 8:30 p.m. EST/7:30 p.m. Central on ABC.
