A New Doctor Who Premieres on BBC America

In just two weeks, Doctor Who fans will journey throughout "all of time and space. Everything that ever happened or ever will." The eleventh incarnation of the mysterious alien traveler will hop in his TARDIS and sets out on a new adventure on April 17th on BBC America at 9:00 PM.

The new Doctor Who will star Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond, his new traveling companion. Join them as they visit sixteenth century Venice, the U.K. far in the future, and much more.

To date there have been ten other actors who have played Doctor Who on the BBC and the series holds a Guinness World Record as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world. With that kind of longevity the series has built up some serious followers, who are counting the minutes until the Doctor returns.

What can they expect from the eleventh bow-tied Doctor Who? For one thing, he still travels in an old-fashioned blue Police Box. And actor Matt Smith says he is a bit more reckless. "He's a thrill seeker and addicted to time travel. He is the mad buffoon genius who saves the world because he's got a great heart, spirit, and soul - but he also doesn't suffer fools."

This month's Wired Magazine features a Doctor Who themed 4-panel cover wrap, which highlights The Sonic Screwdriver as “Gadget of the Year.” This Special Edition is not available to Wired Magazine subscribers, or on newsstands, but you can win it from us!
