Universal Studios Hollywood Debuts the King Kong 3-D Ride

If you’re visiting town or live in Burbank, California and are looking for a colossal way to ring in the 4th of July weekend, drop by Universal Studios Hollywood. On Thursday, July 1, the theme park is opening its newest attraction – the King Kong 3-D ride.

The original giant ape excursion burned down in a fire two years ago, but the new one promises to be even more of a thrill. While the former Kong used antiquated animatronic technology, the new experience drops visitors right in the middle of a state-of-the-art digital primate/t-rex fight on Skull Island.

When Universal decided to update the ride, they went to the best creative talent on the planet to capture the excitement of the 2005 film – director Peter Jackson, who brought Kong back to the silver screen, and his team of digital effects artists at Weta Digital in New Zealand. Interactive live gags, make the action packed adventure even more exciting.

Plus, the new King Kong is eco-friendly, using air-compressed instead of oil-based hydraulics.

The park is likely to be packed over the holiday weekend, so get there early. Universal Studios Hollywood is located at 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, California, 91608.

  1. I have been fielding clients and employees all day to get feedback on the new ride. Everyone over here at the Hilton Los Angeles / Universal City is really excited to have this attraction open up and so are the guests. Our sales team went last night to experience it and had nothing but great things to say! The word "AWESOME" was thrown around a lot... We even have KK footprint in our lobby!

We are sending all our guests over and suggesting you purchase tickets ahead of time with your stay so that you can get the most out of your visit to North Hollywood.

I personally, cant wait to see it...
