Open Casting for Top Chef: Just Desserts

Think you can temper chocolate like a fiend, construct a dress out of Jell-O or build a wedding cake out of Twinkies? Well Top Chef: Just Desserts is now casting for season two. So if you have the baking skills to win in the kitchen, the roll-with-it attitude to compete in the challenges and the claws to handle the cat fights, why not give it a shot?

The Bravo website says the producers are looking for "bold, ingenious pastry chefs who can build visually stunning pieces and impress the judges’ palates." To apply go to the casting website and download an application. Or head on over to the final open call at  The Foundry on Melrose in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The thirteen page application includes questions like:
How would you describe your dessert/pastry philosophy?
What do you consider your "signature dessert?"
Who do you admire as culinary mentors?
Who is your least favorite pastry chef?
and
Describe your most embarrassing moment.

The application also gives guidelines for submitting a video audition. All videos must show you preparing and plating a dessert. They say, "Have fun with this. We want to be impressed with you as a chef but also need to get to know you as a person — make us laugh, cry, have fun... most of all be you." Deadline for video submissions is March 16.
