Even after
nine seasons we can’t get enough of Project
Runway. So we tuned in for the premiere of the series’ tenth installment last
Thursday. And as has always been the case, the fashion design show will be
calling on a long list of famous guest judges to help weed through the good and
the bad styles on the catwalk.
In a recent
interview with the show’s host Heidi Klum, she talked about a few of the show’s
special guests. Fans who watched the season premiere saw a familiar face from Gilmore Girls and Parenthood. Klum remarked, “For our very first challenge that we
did in Times Square we had Lauren Graham.”
And a famous designer joined the judges panel in Times Square as well. Klum revealed, “Obviously I can never give too many guest
judges away, but some people that I was allowed to mention was Patricia
Field. She has been a stylist. She has a store here in New York City. She’s
very well known for doing Sex in the City,
The Devil Wears Prada. She does a lot of full movies and television.”
Heidi noted
that Patricia has been part of the family since the beginning, “She’s actually
been one of our very first judges ever on Project
Runway. She did our very first
challenge on our very first season. So we thought it would be fun to bring her
back. She is a very well known New York
woman. I love her very much. So we brought her back ten seasons later.”
The
discreet supermodel didn’t mention potential guest Katie Holmes, who was
photographed after a tapin in the midst of her divorce drama. But she did acknowledge,
“Hayden Panettiere has been one of our guest judges, also Krysten Ritter.”
As for her
favorite guest judge of all time, Heidi confessed, “I, for example, personally
love Bob Mackie. I’m a huge Barbie
collector and I have all of Bob Mackie’s Barbies and all the special
Barbies. So when I met him for the first
time I was really like, ‘I love you, Bob Mackie.’”
Heidi also enjoys welcoming her famous pals to the Runway. “Some actresses that have been here that I’m personally friendly with, I obviously love having them here. Debra Messing is a friend of mind. She’s been here in the past. I love having people who I spend personal time with. Having them on here is always fun, too."
But she
admitted that the star-struck contestants might have a different take on their
famous visitors. “For some of the designers maybe it was more like Christina
Aguilera or a Victoria Beckham. I don’t
know. Everyone has a different kind of
excitement for a certain person. For
some people, the bigger the star the more excited they are… Everyone has a
different guest judge.”
Tune in to Project Runway on Tuesday nights at 9
p.m. EST/ 8 p.m. Central on Lifetime.
